The working mechanism of ball valves
A ball valve is a one-way valve that controls the flow of liquid or gas by using a hollow, perforated, pivoted ball. To start the flow or to block the flow, the ball and the bore inside rotates to 90 degrees angle. A shaft connects the ball placed on two seats and the control system. When the cross-section of the bore is perpendicular to the area of the flow, the fluid passage is blocked. The fluid flow rate depends on the bore area. It can be operated manually using handles or levers or by automatic operators. Hydraulic, pneumatic and electric valves can be operated under automated systems. The main work of ball valve manufacturers is to manufacture a compact design that suits the customer requirements by complying with the relevant standards which are applicable for the corresponding segments.

Valve housing
The main part of the valve is the valve body. All internal components are fixed in the body made up of rigid, hard metal like carbon steel, stainless steel, and duplex materials, It supports the external control mechanism for proper function.
Rotary ball
A solid or hollow ball with a center bore is mostly found in ball valves. The ball’s direction is controlled by the stem. A solid ball has a constant opening diameter for the smooth flow of liquids at constant velocity. The larger spaces create turbulence and high velocities. As compared to solid balls, hollow balls are economical, lightweight, and effective in operation.
Shaft
A stem or shaft connects the ball to an external control mechanism. It can be operated manually or automatically through levels. The shaft and the bonnet are connected with O-rings and packing rings for ideal sealing effects.
Seat
The valve seats are discs that seal the ball and its body. The upstream and downstream seats are in opposite directions on the inlet and discharge sides.
Actuator
